Contra Costa shelter offering free adoptions for the holidays

Contra Costa Animal Services is offering free adoptions of all available animals through Dec. 15 as part of its “Home for the Holidays” adoption promotion.

“The holiday season is about spreading love and joy, and what better way to find love and joy than providing a loving home to a pet in need,” said Steve Burdo, community and media relations manager for Contra Costa Animal Services. “Whether you’ve been thinking about adopting, or you’re looking for the perfect gift for a family member, adopting a pet from CCAS is most truly the gift that keeps on giving.”

Stop by the Martinez or Pinole adoption centers, pick out a new pet and add a friend or two to your household. Animals available for adoption can be viewed here or by visiting the shelters.

Adoption locations

  • Martinez Adoption Center, 4800 Imhoff Place, Martinez
  • Pinole Adoption Center, 910 San Pablo Ave., Pinole

Shelters are open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesdays.

The free adoption promotion does not include the cost of licensing and any refundable deposits for surgery.
